Who we are..

"Dad, I thought it'd be fun to take a beekeeping class.."

And that's how it started. My name is Stephanie Cannon, and I am the proud co-owner of Belly Acres Bee Farm. My dad, Steve Cannon, kept bees for pollination in the late 80s, but he eventually gave it up due to time constraints from running a full-time pool business. So, when I randomly decided to take a beekeeping class in 2024, my dad's inner beekeeper came back to life with a vengeance! Little did I know what that meant for me! We currently have twenty-five thriving hives at Belly Acres Bee Farm. Our hope, as we expand, is to establish ourselves as a local, trusted supplier of queen bees, along with offering honey bee nuc sales and a variety of other honey products, including raw honey and supplies.

Why "Belly Acres"?

My pop pop, Virgil Cannon, of Bridgeville, DE joked that 'someone was always belly achin' about something'—and that's how they affectionately referred to their home. In honor of him and my grandmother, Margaret 'Emily' Cannon, I asked dad if we could name the bee farm 'Belly Acres Bee Farm'.
